You who fear God, listen: God desires complete obedience. Even if it hurts you or others. Ps. 15 teaches that those who will ascend His holy Hill keep their oath even when it hurts. This pleases God. This blesses God. Remember Jesus, who obeyed His Father even to the point of death- by excruciating crucifixion. Love obeys God to the end no matter what it is.
Think about the contrast of character between David and Saul. Do you know why Saul was rejected by God, and why David was accepted? The scripture is quite clear. It was a matter of obedience.
Now the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying, “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” 1Sam. 15:10,11
“And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’” Acts 13:22
So above all today, obey the Word of God. Whether He speaks it in your ear, your heart, or you read the Holy Scriptures. In that beautiful moment of obedience, we align ourselves with the perfect will of God. In that moment, a portion of the universe functions properly and as God intended it to. We are acknowledging God in all our ways, and He makes our path smooth. In that moment we revolt against the curse, we walk in the Spirit, we do not fulfill the lust of our flesh. In that glorious moment we resist the devil, and he flees. And in that sublime moment, we prove to Almighty and Wonderful God that we love Him. In that holy, noble and reverent moment, God loves you and makes His home with you.
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”
Praise God and obey Him with your whole heart.
