Who is Faithful?

Posted by Adam Dobbs on May 24, 2010 with 0 Comments

FAITHFUL (faith·ful) Adj:
Hebrew: Aman “aw-man”- to build up support, parent, firm, trust, believe, to be permanent, true.

Psalm 31:23-24 “Oh, love the Lord, all you saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and repays the proud person. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”

There’s a question: How do we intend to make it through this life?

If  you wrestle with hopelessness, chances are you have invested your hope in the wrong place. We have a choice, we can continue in our hopeless state to or we can embrace the Truth that God loves you, and has promised provision and preservation for his children no matter what the circumstance. Grounded in the Resurrection

Posted by j.pabalate on May 21, 2010 with 0 Comments

During worship last Sunday, a particular song’s lyrics provoked an uncomfortable thought. The words of the song are as follows, “You are good, You are good, and Your love endures today.”  Although I was glad to hear my views of God expressed with such a nice melody, thoughts of recent headlines prevented me from enjoying the worship.

Chelsea King, a pretty high school girl, was recently raped and murdered while on an after school jog.  Thousands had been killed and tens of thousands of lives were ruined when earthquakes rocked Haiti, Chili, and China.  Meanwhile, Europe was tossed into complete disarray when, of all things, an Icelandic volcano erupted shutting down most of the continent’s airports and stranding thousands of passengers (leaving many of them financially ruined).  As the song continued, drowning out the lyrics were the imagined voices of my skeptical friends and family asking, “If God is so good and loving, why?” Read More

A song of praise to God By Samuel Stennett

Posted by Adam Dobbs on February 27, 2010 with 0 Comments

To God the universal King,
Let all mankind their tribute bring;
All that have breath, your voices raise,
In songs of never-ceasing praise.

The spacious earth on which we tread,
And wider heavens stretched o’er our head,
A large and solemn temple frame
To celebrate its builder’s fame.

Here the bright sun that rules the day,
As through the sky he makes his way,
To all the world proclaims aloud
The boundless sovereignty of God.

When from his courts the sun retires,
And with the day his voice expires,
The moon and stars adopt the song,
And through the night the praise prolong.

The listening earth with rapture hears
The harmonious music of the spheres;
And all her tribes the notes repeat,
That God is wise, and good, and great.

But man, endowed with nobler powers,
His God in nobler strains adores;
His is the gift to know the song,
As well as sing with tuneful tongue.

The Initial Taste of God’s Sure Promise

Posted by Chris Mitten on February 23, 2010 with 0 Comments

In Exodus 5:5,9, Pharoah says, “Look, you make them rest from their labor! Hmmm. Let more work be laid on them!”
Sometimes God gives us a little taste of freedom, of rest, a little light, but soon after MORE difficulty than before! Is the promise of no effect? Of course not. Do not be afraid, wait patiently and see the salvation of the Lord (Ex.14:13). Though it tarries wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Hab. 2:3).

Hymn 295

Tell me the story of Jesus; write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious, sweetest that was ever heard.
Tell how the angels in chorus, sang as they welcomed his birth:
“Glory to God in the highest! peace and good tidings to earth!” Read More

Ps. 27:4 “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,…”

Have you even pondered the thought of what life would be like if you were fully dependent on God? What does it mean to fully trust the will and works of our El Shaddai. (“all sufficient God”)? Read More

This is a powerful video. All of us can somehow relate to the guy in this video. Just think how sweet it would be to finally get past our surroundings and fall on our knees and praise the King! We hope it blesses you!

God’s Love or My “Love”

Posted by David Izor on February 6, 2010 with 0 Comments
John 21:17

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?”  Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love me?”And he said to Him “Lord, You know all things you know that I love You.”

Have you ever noticed that its easier to serve the Lord at moments of strength? Sometimes we claim to love God with all our heart; we cheerfully serve the Lord with gladness- not by obligationy; We serve Him because it is a pleasure, not because we should;  We consider others more important than ourselves, we’ll even give the shirt right off our back and go “without” so someone else can “go with.” But before you know it, we fail and we fail hard. We find ourselves with a bad attitude; we find ourselves being selfish and tired of being “Christ-like.” Read More
